Hi and welcome to my homepage!! My name is Reno and I'm a Golden Retriever. Everyone says that I have all the typical traits of one (whatever THAT'S supposed to mean) ha ha ha!

Here's some info about me:

We live in Virginia, which makes me a southern boy! I was born on December 11, 2001, the day after Mom and Dad's 17-1/2 year old Akita/Husky, Ginger, passed away. Mom and Dad's friends said that God took one angel away and gave them another one. Everyone said that I would bring lots of joy to them, and make them smile and laugh again. And I have!!

Since Mom first started this home page, our family has grown and now besides me, there's Keona, Shelby, and Rocky. There are links to their homepages toward the bottom of my homepage and you can read all about them later....after all, this is supposed to be all about me!!

Here's what I looked like when Mom and Dad brought me home. I sure was little (and very cute) back then!!

I'm really curious and if I hear something, I'll take time out from napping to see what's going on!

One of my favorite things is running and playing outside. If it's raining, Mom doesn't want me to go outside because I'll get too muddy (which is half the fun, but Mom doesn't think so)! I like to look outside so I can let Mom know when the rain has stopped!

After running and playing outside with Dad, sometimes we like to take a short nap. Dad sure is a comfortable "pillow"!

When Dad doesn't feel like taking a nap, I have the whole couch to myself!

Here I am posing in the snow. Even though it's cold, I'm always ready to smile for the camera!

Who says dogs don't practice good dental hygiene?!! Dad flosses my teeth every night after dinner and I love it!

It's January 2003 and Mom and Dad surprised me with a new baby sister, a 5-week old wolfdog named Keona. She's so little, I can boss her around!

Here's a picture of me guarding her while she sleeps; actually, I'm waiting for her to wake up so I can boss her around some more!

Keona is 7 months old now and you can see how big she's gotten! I still boss her around, but it's sure not as easy as it used to be!!

When we're not playing, we like to "guard" the yard!

Mom and Dad bought us a wading pool, but I don't like getting in it very much. I know I'm supposed to be a water dog, but I'm not!

On September 11, 2003, Mom rescued Shelby from a shelter on behalf of GRREAT (a link to GRREAT's site is below). Mom fell in love with Shelby the moment she saw her! Mom brought Shelby to our house to foster her and we adopted her on December 10, 2003! We all love her ALOT!

Here's a picture of Shelby and me taking a nap after playing outside!

It's Christmas day and we're waiting for Dad to get us our special treats!

I'm not sure what was going through my mind when Dad took this picture, but I sure do look serious!!

On September 28, 2005, Mom helped with a transport of a 5 year old Golden named Rocky. There was a mix-up with the transport and it got kinda' late at night, so Rocky ended up coming home with Mom. He was only supposed to stay one night, but because we all liked him so much, Mom and Dad decided to foster him. Well, we all ended up loving him alot and Mom and Dad adopted him!

Here's a picture of our new brother, Rocky.

Here are some pics of me chillin' in the back yard.

I'm waiting for Dad to throw the squeaky ball, but all he wants to do is take more pictures!!

It's New Year's Day 2006 and this is the very first picture taken of me!

Here's another picture on New Year's Day of Keona, Rocky, and me waiting for Dad to throw the ball he's holding up in the air! Shelby was standing next to Dad, so that's why she's not in the picture.

Here's a picture of Rocky (on the left) and me relaxing after playing.

Mom's the Intake Coordinator for a Golden Retriever rescue group called GRREAT (Golden Retriever Rescue, Education, and Training) and that keeps her really busy. She still tries to help with transports and do home visits on people who want to adopt a rescued Golden Retriever. Shelby and I get to help, too, because we take turns going with her on home visits so we can show people how wonderful Goldens are!! And now that Rocky lives with us, he'll get to help, too!

GRREAT's always looking for volunteers, so if you have some spare time and a love for Goldens, please go to GRREAT's site and see if there's something that you can do to help!

Dad is the President of Wolfdog Rescue Resources (WRR). WRR supports wolfdog sanctuaries with financial help, obtaining materials for enclosures, and assists sanctuaries in their rescue of wolfdogs.

Mom and Dad are always trying to help Golden Retrievers and wolfdogs who are not as fortunate as Keona, Shelby, Rocky, and me. I wish all the Golden Retrievers and wolfdogs could know the love we do. Hopefully some day soon they will.

Thanks so much for visiting my homepage! I hope you enjoyed your visit and be sure to check back for updates and new pictures! Also, please sign my guestbook!
